Muslim Brotherhood protest in Suez on December 6, 2013 - Aswat Masriya

SUEZ, Oct 24 (Aswat Masriya) - Assailants torched two cars that belong to the Saudi consulate in Suez's Arbaeen district early on Friday, Tariq al-Gazzar, security director of Suez, told Aswat Masriya.

"Investigations proved that two members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood threw Molotov cocktails at four a.m. on Friday at two cars with license plates indicating that they belong to a Saudi Arabian political entity," Gazar said.

He added that the identity of the perpetrators has been identified and that they will be captured.

Egypt banned the Muslim Brotherhood and declared it a terrorist organisation in December 2013. The government accuses the group of committing acts of violence, while the Brotherhood deny these accusations, saying that all their protests are peaceful.

Brotherhood leaders and supporters have often found themselves behind bars and facing courts since the military's ouster of Brotherhood member and former President Mursi in July last year. A court in Minya has served over 1000 Brotherhood supporters preliminary death sentences in March and April 2014.
