CAIRO, June 20 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt will retrieve on Friday eight Islamic wooden art pieces from Denmark's Copenhagen, said the minister of antiquities.

The objects will arrive in Cairo International Airport on Friday night, Minister Mamdouh al-Damati stated.

The wooden pieces, which belong to the rostrum of Ghanim al-Bahlawan Mosque in al-Darb al-Ahram area South of Islamic Cairo, were stolen in 2008.

The artefacts are being returned after a Danish court had ruled that Egypt is entitled to recover them, the Middle East News Agency reported Damati as saying.

The biggest of the artefacts is 150cm x 50cm while the rest are approximately 10cm x 20cm, Damati added.
