Eight killed and 31 others injured in car crash on Ismailia Desert Road - Health Ministry

CAIRO, Dec 26 (Aswat Masriya) - Eight people were killed and 31 others were injured on Friday in a three-car collision on the Ismailia desert road.
Egypt has been shrouded in heavy fog since the early morning.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the accident was caused by the sudden overturn of a truck, into which a speeding bus and a car crashed.
Road accidents are a common occurrence in Egypt, being among the prime causes of death in the Arab world's most populous country.
According to a report released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) in June, the number of car accidents occurring in Egypt in 2013 rose by 0.4 percent when compared to the 2012 figure.
