One hundred and thirty members have tendered their resignations from the Salafi al-Watan Party to the party's head, Emad Abdel Ghafour.
The head and members of the party's specialised committees have resigned to protest what they called the different visions of the party's leading figures.
This creates division within the party and makes it impossible to take effective decisions, deputy head of al-Watan's specialised committees said.
The reasons for this mass resignation also include the lack of communication between party leaders and members, he said.
The party also did not fulfill its promise to form a parallel government that groups all political currents, he added.
