CAIRO, Sept 16 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt is set to receive the second French Mistral helicopter on Friday, according to state-run news agency MENA.
The Chief of Egyptian Naval Operations Osama Rabei will raise Egypt's flag on the Mistral during a military ceremony in Saint-Nazaire in western France, the agency reported.
The new helicopter carrier is named after late president "Anwar al-Sadat".
Egypt received that first Mistral helicopter carrier, named after the second president of Egypt "Gamal Abdel Nasser" last June.
France agreed last year to sell Egypt the two Mistral helicopter carriers worth EUR 950 million after their sale to Russia was cancelled.
Last January, Egypt received three Rafale fighter jets from France as part of a EUR 5.2 billion deal sealed in Feb. 2015 whereby Egypt bought a frigate as well as 24 jets from the French aircraft manufacturer.
