CAIRO, May 5 (Aswat Masriya) - Egypt's minister of defence and his Spanish counterpart signed on Tuesday a military memorandum of understanding, agreeing to hold joint military exercises and share expertise.

The agreement was signed during Spanish Defence Minister Pedro Morenés' visit to Egypt, heading a high level delegation.

Last week, Egypt and Spain signed a security cooperation agreement during President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's visit to Madrid.

The agreement, which regulates cooperation between the two states in the field of security and combating crime, was signed by the Egyptian foreign minister and the Spanish interior minister.

The purpose of Sisi's visit was to bolster bilateral ties, with Spanish investments in Egypt exceeding 700 million Euros in the fields of gas, cement and railroads, according to the Egyptian presidency.
