CAIRO, April 19 (Aswat Masriya) Mortada Mansour, Chairman of Zamalek club, withdrew from Egypt's presidential race on Saturday and announced his support for former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
Mansour said in a press conference that his withdrawal is not related to his inability to collect the required endorsements.
According to Egypt's constitution, in order for a candidate to officially run for presidency he is required to collect at least 25,000 recommendations from supporters.
Beside Sisi, only leftist political Hamdeen Sabahi has collected and submitted the required endorsements.
