CAIRO, July 16 (Aswat Masriya) An Egyptian court gave nine people sentences from 20 years to life in prison on Wednesday over four separate sexual harassment cases.
Seven defendants were sentenced to life while two were sentenced to 20 years. All were put under close surveillance for five years.
Three of the defendants were sentenced to life imprisonment twice in two separate cases while one was sentenced three times over three separate cases and another was sentenced to both life in prison and 20 years over two separate cases.
The defendants were charged with forcible indecent assault and robbery.
Upon hearing the verdicts, security forces and relatives of the defendants clashed.
