CAIRO, May 15 (Aswat Masriya) Egyptian living outside the country began voting on Thursday in the first presidential elections after the army's ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Mursi following mass protests against his rule in 2013.

Voters will choose between only two candidates; former army chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and former parliamentarian and presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi.

Expatriates can cast their vote from May 15 until May 18. The number of Egyptians who live abroad is estimated at eight million people.

There are polling stations in 141 embassy and consulates in 125 countries, according to the Presidential Election Commission (PEC).

Egyptian expats are allowed to vote in the presidential elections without being residents or pre-registered voters in embassies.

They are only required to present their national identification cards or passports. They should be registered in the voters' list in Egypt.

In Egypt, the elections will take place on 26 and 27 May. A run-off will be held in June if no-one wins 50% of the vote.
