Foreign minister, Mohamed Amr, said he was pleased with how the elections reformulated relations between Egyptian communities and embassies abroad and boosted links and cooperation. He cited current elections as an example saying members of expatriate communities monitored ballot counting.
During a meeting with a number of Egyptian diplomats who participated in ballot counting abroad, Amr was quoted by the Middle East News Agency (MENA) saying that he is proud of the success of the members of Egyptian embassies and consulates in this historical process Egypt is witnessing for the first time since the January 25 revolution.
He added that this success makes them responsible for keeping the same level of performance during future elections and referendums.
