CAIRO, Mar 8 (Aswat Masriya) - The Saudi-Egyptian Businessmen Association called on Sunday on Saudi investors who exited the Yemeni market to move to the Egyptian market instead.

A "large number" of Saudi investors have incurred losses as a result of the recent developments in Yemen, Secretary General of the association Ahmed Darwish said.

Yemen has slipped into turmoil since the Houthis, a Shia rebel movement, upscaled their attempts to seize control over the country.

Darwish believes the Egyptian market is a "better alternative" to investing in Yemen, especially since the Egyptian government is perparing to carry out economic restructure.

Last week, the government approved a draft investment law that includes incentives and benefits to reduce production costs, which would in turn encourage investors, Egypt's investment minister said.

Today's call comes ahead of a major economic conference Egypt is organising later this month in the resort town of Sharm al-Sheikh. The state strongly believes heavy participation in the conference would help in the recovery of an economy battered by political instability over the past four years.
