One person was killed and 50 others were injured in clashes between supporters and opponents of President Mohamed Mursi in Mansoura on Wednesday, Al-Jazeera Mubasher Misr reported.
Clashes broke out in the afternoon after hundreds of Muslim Brotherhood supporters marched from a mosque in Mansoura to express their support for Mursi and await the speech he is expected to give later today, al-Ahram Portal said.
Some people said that a group of citizens attacked the march. The Muslim Brotherhood accused thugs of assaulting its members amid the absence of security.
Unknown assailants attacked the "Zad" market owned by Brotherhood member Khairat al-Shater and dumped its contents in the street.
